I got the free e-book Cry for Freedom and it took me a while to get into it, but after I did I couldn’t put it down and have purchased the rest of the series and want to know when the next one will be out! The Heavens shall Fall! Love them all!

I have the second in the series Embrace of the enemy. It is stuck half way through. I am unable to turn the page. Are you putting out a copy that is fixed? Amazon says that I need to wait for that. Please reply.

  3. I’m sorry to hear you have had an issue with Embrace of the Enemy. I haven’t heard of this problem before, but it does concern me. I hope if anyone else has had this issue they will let me also let me know. I have gone back to the manuscript that is downloaded to Amazon. I went through the whole book. This problem didn’t present itself to me. I have emailed KDP, though, to see what it could be.
Until then, I have sent you an email offering you, I hope, a temporary solution to your problem. Let me know if you don’t receive the email. Thank you for calling my attention to the issue.

  5. Vanessa,
I hope that you will enjoy The Heavens Shall Fall… It will be released on May 20! Funny thing happened while I was writing The Heavens Shall Fall, which was supposed to end with The Heavens Shall Fall and Benedict Arnold’s betrayal. I decided to continue to the end of war, which means there will be a fifth book.

    • Sherry,
I don’t know why it’s not up. I go through Smashwords to get it up on Kobo. It was on pre-order basis on Smashwords which meant it should have gone up immediately upon release. If its not up tomorrow, I can send you a copy if you like in PDF until it comes up or another means. I apologize. I sincerely thought it would have been up.

    • I’m hoping to have Set Fire to the Rain late 2015. I’m so glad you have enjoyed the series. I also have another series, Tides of Charleston with Whiskey Creek Press, that is set during the same time period. Some of the characters even make cameos in Another Night Falls. Tides of Charleston series is in the process of being revised. The first book, The Judas Kiss, is set to be re-released on Wednesday. The next one, The Promise, is set to be re-released December 19. The last one, Another Nights Falls, will be early next year…Another Night Falls is one of my personal favorite books I’ve written. I believe if you enjoyed Winds of Betrayal, you will enjoy the revised Tides of Charleston series, especially Another Night Falls.

My next new release will be Belle of Charleston, Book One Southern Legacy Series, which is set during the Civil War…I’m truly excited about this series. I’m probably going to release the Belle of Charleston in December. Don’t have an exact date. Thanks again for your feedback! Have a wonderful day.

There’s an author on Amazon, Jay Cute, who appears to be a plagiarist. “The Cry for Freedom” is on his list. Please check it out as Amazon only allows the copyright holder to get infringing works removed. Look it up directly on the Amazon site, or else here is the link.

I have loved this series so much. Your writing is fantastic. I can’t wait to get the next book in late 2015. These characters are like real people that have lived through this. Every time I look for a new book I think of this series. I also have read the Tides of Charleston series. It also is excellent.

  15. Jane says:

I, too, have gotten “hooked on” this series. But, I’m now waiting for Set Fire to the Rain: Book Five. Hope it’s in first half of 2015 but until then, I’ll have to find some other historical fiction to bide my time. Thanks for so many interesting characters tied to our country’s beginning.

  16. Jeri says:

So glad there will be another book! Can’t wait for it to come out!!

  17. Spring says:

  18. Vanessa Howell says:

This series has everything and more….I’m totally hooked.
I’m hoping for the fairy tale end for Hannah and Marcus, with of course the usual twists and turns….. When is the release date for book five?

  20. Thank you for your kind words. I’m in the middle of revisions to Another Night Falls which will be released in August. I’m hoping to have the final book to conclude Winds of Betrayal, Set Fire to the Rain, out by the end of the year.

  21. Vanessa Howell says:

The end of the year is creeping up, when are you going to release the final book in the Winds of Betrayal?

  22. Rose says:

Its really disappointing to learn that the final installment, Set fire to the Rain will not be available till 2016. Do you have a target date in 2016.

    • Rose,
I don’t have a set date. I’m hoping for the summer. Winds of Betrayal has been my baby for a long time. I apologize for pushing it back, but I promise it’s coming. Unfortunately, life has gotten in my way of completing the series when I promised. Personally, over the last few months I have lost my mother-in-law (August), my father-in-law (October) and my mother had a stroke. My in-laws had been in hospice for a while as well. I am not looking for sympathy. I am only explaining why I have had to push back the release. I so appreciate your feedback, but I want my full focus on the last book to make it a memorable conclusion. I will announce a set date as soon as I can. I ask for your patience. Thank you.
      Sincerely,
      Jerri Hines

  23. Susan says:

    Jerri,

I felt I had to express how I enjoyed reading the four books in your Winds of Betrayal Series. When I started I did not want to put the book down. Thank you for the endless hours of enjoyment. I look forward to the final book, Set Fire to the Rain.

So sorry for the loss of your in-laws and your mother’s stroke. You and your family will be in my prayers.

    God Bless,
    Susan

  24. Rose says:

    Jerri,
So sorry for your loss, please know your fans are excited for a conclusion because you are a master at your craft. In the scheme of life challenges, I completely get it and will remain a patient fan of your work.

  25. When will ‘Set Fire to the Rain’, Book Five Winds of Betrayal be released and available through Amazon?

  26. Deborah Edwards says:

Jeri , I have just finished the 4th book in your Winds of betrayal Series. And I didn’t seem the end of the series . I thought there would was supposed to have been a book 5 coming in 2015 .It is now May 2016 . Is there a book 5 in the series?

    • Deborah,
There has been a delay…It should be out by the end of this year. If you want a glimpse at what’s ahead, I have The Bastard Son coming out in July which has crossover characters. The conclusion to Winds of Betrayal should be out in December.

  27. Alisha S says:

Has Set Fire to the Rain been released or is there a release date?

  29. Vanessa Howell says:

Will Set Fire to the Rain be out before Christmas? It seems like forever since Hannah and Marcus’ first encounter in the tree, these are truely wonderful books, I can’t wait for the final instalment.

  30. Megan Horn says:

I am so excited about Set Fire to the Rain!! I just re-read the entire series to prepare myself!!! I would love to get an email or something when it gets released. Would that be possible?

  31. Vanessa Howell says:

Do you have a release date for Set Fire to the Rain, it has been an age since the saga began and I’m going to have to re-read the books before I read the final one, so it would be great to know the release date.
Have a great Christmas and a brilliant 2017

    Vanessa Howell

      Vanessa,
So sorry it took me a few days to answer. I have a set date for the release— April 4th! Pre-order will be up on January 10th! I know that Set Fire To The Rain has been a long time coming and appreciate your patience. Happy Holidays!
      Jerri

  32. Carol says:

I just finished Set Fire to the Rain and was disappointed. I felt that Hannah should have lived happily ever after, considering all she went through. I guess it surprised me because it was so different to the endings in the rest of your books. I have read every book you have written under the Jerri Hines and Colleen Connolly names. I do wonder where you got the name Sumner. I have only heard of one person named Sumner in my life and coincidentally he lived in the Boston area.

    • jerrihines says:

Carol, I’m sorry you were disappointed. I understand…I truly do, but to me there wasn’t another ending, especially if I stayed true to the character. Her children had the lives she envisioned which was the reason she fought. I will write more about this later. I do appreciate the feedback. I only have one hand to type at the moment, but maybe I’ll open up a facebook page to talk about the ending soon. As for the name Sumner, I always do research for names during that era and region. I found that name and thought it perfect for the character. I don’t know a living person by that name, but it is ironic you do…and from Boston. Take care.
      Sincerely, Jerri

  33. Jessica says:

I just finished Set Fire to the Rain last night, staying up long after my bedtime to do so! Thank you for such a wonderful series. My last name is Tallmadge, so I’ll admit that I mainly read it at first only because I knew it featured Ben Tallmadge 🙂 There are so many things I want to share with you … I went back and forth hating and caring for Marcus and I was so happy with the way you ended that and he was able to reunite with Hannah before she passed and you resolved that for the reader. The epilogue was wonderful and it meant a lot to be able to know that the children grew up and Marcus kept an eye on his son. I really did love the end, aside from Hannah’s passing.
My only issue with these stories is that it is very VERY difficult for me to read about people suffering physically and most specifically when it is the type of thing some of your characters suffered at the hands of Georgie Boy. I really really wish some of it happened “off screen”, so to speak. Those images of Hannah and that other poor woman in the earlier books haunted me for a long time. And, as it happened, my 4 yr old son was in the bed with me as I read last night and the thought of him tied to a post while he cried for me … it was too much. I wept and held him so tight! So, your writing is effective!

Thank you for such a wonderful and engrossing series. I’ve always been fascinated by the Revolutionary War and it was great fun to feel that I was in the room with Washington and Tallmadge and others.

    • jerrihines says:

Thank you so much your comment. I just got back from a few days away. (I was doing some research for my next series.) It is extremely difficult to write those scenes you mentioned, and understand your concern. Set Fire To The Rain was very difficult for me to write because I knew what was ahead for the characters. I, too, get attached to them. As you know, Tallmadge was a true American hero. His work with the Culper Spy ring was essential for our victory. A great name to have! Thank you again for taking the time to express your opinion. I truly appreciate it. Have a wonderful day!
      Sicerely,
      Jerri Hines
